Local Man Wins Golf Date with Johnny Miller in Sorenson Champions Challenge

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (August 16, 2007) — The Sorenson Group of Real Estate Companies, title sponsor of Sorenson Champions Challenge charity golf tournament, today announced Frank M. Whitney, of Orem, is the winner of the "Golf with Johnny" contest drawing held today during Media Day events at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club in Lehi.

"I am so excited about this," said Whitney, "I can't believe I'm going to play golf with a legend like Johnny Miller. My friends and I will be talking about this for a long time."

Sorenson Champions Challenge is Utah's premier golfing charity match, now in its tenth year, and is hosted by Golf Hall of Fame member Johnny Miller. In past years the challenge has drawn such golf greats as Jack Nicklaus, Annika Sorenstam, Billy Casper, Sergio Garcia, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Fuzzy Zoeller and Hale Irwin, as well as celebrities such as Bill Murray, Vince Gill, Kenny G, LaVell Edwards and Danny Ainge.

This year's golf challenge begins with a pro-am tournament on Aug. 20 that matches each foursome with one professional, partner, or golfing celebrity in a team scramble format. Whitney will play in a foursome in this event with Johnny Miller. On Aug. 21, the Sorenson Champions Challenge format changes to twosomes competing in a scramble format.

"It's really fun for us to give a recreational golfer the opportunity to play with Johnny Miller, one of the all time great touring professionals," said James Lee Sorenson, CEO of The Sorenson Group. "This event is going to be fun for everyone. All the better, it will raise funds for two important local charities." Sorenson Champions Challenge selected art works for kids, of Salt Lake City, and American Indian Services, of Provo, as equal beneficiaries for the proceeds from this year's charity tournament.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase at Thanksgiving Point in advance and at the gate, and at ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster Outlets. For more information, see Sorenson Champions Challenge Web site www.championschallengegolf.com.
