Sorenson and Young Partner to kick off the Sorenson Companies - Steve Young Mountain Classic

SALT LAKE CITY (June 14, 2005) – The Sorenson Companies and Forever Young Foundation today announced that Sorenson Companies has signed on as title sponsor for the Foundation's 8th annual Steve Young Mountain Classic charity golf tournament, now named the Sorenson Companies-Steve Young Mountain Classic. Money raised by this event, held June 22 at Promontory – The Ranch Club in Park City, Utah, will help fund the Forever Young Foundation's charitable activities in Utah.

"We are honored to participate with Steve and the Forever Young Foundation to help provide healing and learning opportunities for children and families in our communities," said entrepreneur and philanthropist James Lee Sorenson, CEO of Sorenson Communications, Sorenson Media, and Sorenson Medical.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to join with my son James Lee and the Sorenson Companies to support this effort to improve lives and create possibilities for Utah children," added billionaire inventor and humanitarian James LeVoy Sorenson.

The Forever Young Foundation (FYF) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization founded by NFL great Steve Young in 1993 to provide educational, athletic, and therapeutic opportunities for children who face significant physical, emotional, and financial challenges. The Foundation focuses its primary efforts in Utah, Northern California, and Arizona.

Forever Young's activities include developing interactive, recreational therapy centers (Forever Young Hospital Zones) in health care facilities such as the "Zone" in Salt Lake City's Primary Children's Medical Center. Forever Young Foundation also partners with the National Football League to create educational computer centers (Forever Young Technology Zones) in NFL Youth Education Towns to enhance the lives of children in underserved urban communities.

"Much like football, when we pull together as a team, focusing our efforts toward a common goal, we can accomplish great works," said Forever Young Foundation founder Steve Young. "It is a privilege to partner with James Lee and James LeVoy Sorenson and the Sorenson Companies to improve the lives of children living in our surrounding communities. This adds a new and welcome dimension to what is already a positive business and personal relationship." Young, an NFL Hall of Famer, is also a co-founder and managing director of Sorenson Capital, which received its title funding from Sorenson Development Inc and the Sorenson family.

The Steve Young Mountain Classic pairs athletes and other celebrities with tournament sponsors on the golf links. In addition to Young, participating celebrities will include: former University of Utah star quarterback Alex Smith, the first player chosen in the 2005 NFL draft; Philadelphia Eagles star tight end Chad Lewis; former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Danny White; former Boston Celtics star and current director of basketball operations Danny Ainge; BYU football coaching legend Lavell Edwards; and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Dale Murphy. Before play begins, former PGA U.S. Open and British Open champion and tournament co-host Johnny Miller will provide a golf clinic for participants.
